Kasia, from County Kildare, recently purchased some ceramic cupboard knobs from us in pastel shades and she kindly sent us some photos of her completed projects. Well done Kasia they look amazing! We love what Kasia has done with this beautiful cupboard in natural wood. It looks absolutely stunning and really makes the chest of drawers a focal point to the entire room.
Combining the ceramic knobs in the soft pinks and greys together with the black iron handles is a great idea that works surprising well. The lace edging is also very effective and brings a really cottage feel that is both inviting and homely.
This mixed set of ceramic cupboard knobs in pastel pinks, Eau de Nil greens and pale greys is what Kasia purchased from Mango Tree Knobs to upcycle her cupboard.
In addition Kasia also made this fantastic arts and crafts piece of furniture as a gift for a friend. Kasia used the Mango Tree ceramic cupboard knobs for this creative work and below she shares with us how she managed to achieve this:
'The frame I made myself with pallet wood. Painted it with chalk paint, lots of it so it looks like it was painted many times over. Then distressed it for even more of a vintage look. The small frames I picked up in a charity shop and again painted them . The inside pictures are crochet and knitted but I think you could put anything there really, some nice wallpaper etc. I like that it is very very hand made! The crochet hearts (pattern from YouTube). Then the lovely knobs :-) Some fabric to hand, the 3 frames and its done. It takes time but it's worth it. It looks much better in real life and you can not buy it in the shops. I made it for a good friend of mine.'
Well done Kasia, we are very impressed!

Kasia found some of her materials from charity shops which is a good idea and visiting local Art and Craft shops is great for inspiration. We have an Art and Craft shop that we often visit in Coulsdon, Surrey and if you search in your local area there is sure to be one near you.
Art & Craft Valley in Coulsdon find the resurgence of yarn arts such as knitting, sewing, and crochet is reflected in the current ‘make-do and mend’ economic climate. Art & Craft have joined this movement and are current suppliers of all haberdashery, knitting and crochet materials. After all, which of us doesn’t need a button from time to time! Their increased range now offers a full supply of haberdashery goods, from dress fabric down to the sewing needle and they carry an extensive range of ribbons and trimmings.
Art & Craft have a complementary teaching service within the store for knitting and crochet, and they are currently attempting to work towards plans of opening a sewing café in their workshop area. We await with excitement!
It's really important to support local retailers like Art & Craft Valley and they are such an amazing source of information that you are guaranteed to leave their shop with the inspiration to create something new for yourself or your home.
Hobbycraft are also currently running a 'Make It Don't Buy It' campaign and they have some great ideas and advice on their website at http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/about-us
So have some fun and don't forget to tell us about it - we would love to hear from you :)
